About the Journal
The Portuguese Journal of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (SPEDM J - Revista Portuguesa de Endocrinologia, Diabetes e Metabolismo), is the official journal of the Portuguese Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, publishes articles in Portuguese (from Portugal) and/or English.
It has been published continuously since 2005.
Since 2014 it is also the official journal of the Sociedade Portuguesa para o Estudo da Obesidade (Portuguese Society for the Study of Obesity); since 2015 official journal of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Osteoporose e Doenças Ósseas Metabólicas (Portuguese Society of Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Diseases) and since 2016 official journal of the Sociedade Angolana de Endocrinologia, Diabetes e Metabolismo (Angolan Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism).
It is an open access peer reviewed journal that offers free publication publishing within the field of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. The journal aims to provide a widely available resource for people working within the field of diabetes and endocrinology, in order to improve the care of people affected by these conditions.
The audience includes physicians, researchers, nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, psychologists, epidemiologists, and health care researchers.
The SPEDM J is signatory of the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals, issued by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE Recommendations), and follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
The SPEDM J is indexed on the Web of Science.
